March 18th (77/365): March 18th About 8 months ago I decided to take on the ‘100 items or less’ challenge. In short it’s a challenge of seeing whether you could live with less than 100 possessions. As a student, a teenager, I collected a lot of junk and it wasn’t just books and DVDs but paper notes, drawings & writing. A great deal of this stuff was just paper that needn’t be kept as paper - the sort of things I could just as easily scan & preserve digitally. After this long I have had unprecedented opportunity to keep challenging myself with this - there has been no time limit other than my 22nd in May, which last year was a long way away! I wanted to see how much I could do in that time and, so far, I’ve been overwhelmed by the progress I have made. I am pretty sure what I owned before was in the hundreds, nearer to 4 digits than 3, but by the end of this month I will have finished the final stretches in this incredible commitment to my future. I’ve been documenting the whole thing (my Art tutor at College would be pleased) and after being asked about it a lot when I meet people I will run a regular post on this when I launch web pages in late May. If anyone is interested in some of the specifics/dilemmas you might come up against yourself then do post/message questions - I will be happy to cover them more specifically in the future. :-)
